I’ve Learned; Keep Learning
“Think you have it Figured Out” written in 2008 – this is poem about the frustration of those that feel they can’t be themselves, so they wrap themselves up in an image they have no ties to personally.
You think you can write
You think you can sing
Thoughts of the life
No one else sees
But really it’s so simple
It’s not that sincere
A person’s words should reflect
Everything they’ve seen
Though it’s not bad
But it’s not good
You give yourself credit
For the one thing you shouldn’t
The words you share
You know you’re going to share
So what’s real about that?
Open yourself up to changes
Let you be a reflection of yourself
Not of this image you try to portray.
